Today we tell you about an incredible story of hope and unity that unfolded in Lower Austria. In mid-September 2023, heavy rains led to devastating flooding that affected many people in the region. One of the victims was the family of Kenana Musaefendic from the municipality of Tulbing. It was a truly catastrophic blow for them: the winds raised the water level up to their waists, destroying many things in their brand new house, which they had moved into just two years ago. However, despite the grief, it is precisely in moments like these that the power of human kindness is shown.
After Kenana appeared on the ORF program "Aktuell nach eins", the editorial office received an anonymous call. On the other end of the line was a member of one of Upper Austria's well-known business families, who was deeply touched by the fate of the Musaefendic family. He expressed his desire to donate 100,000 euros. The question inevitably arises: how can such a gesture change the lives of people in difficult situations? For Kenana, this support was not just financial help, but a symbol of hope.
The total damage to the family's home is €190,000, and we can already see how the community is rallying around the victims. Of this amount, €100,000 is an anonymous donation, €60,000 is from the state. However, the family still has to raise €30,000 on their own. This story once again highlights how important it is to support each other in difficult times. It reminds us that even in the darkest moments, there is always light.
